Glasgow’s unofficial museum of brands and packaging

Aka my aunt’s larder.

A quick bit of context. My aunt lives in an Edwardian house in the West End of Glasgow and it still has all of its original fixtures and fittings: leather wallpaper, mangle in the washroom, giant bath with shower that sprays from the side, parquet floor, gas lamp fittings, billiard table… unfortunately it also seems to have its original food.

Like many people in my family, my aunt is not very good at throwing things out, and consequently the house is a complete tip, albeit one in which she is perfectly happy. She also likes to buy in bulk to save money. Then stockpile it.

While I would caution anyone being offered a meal in her house, the larder is a mini museum of brands and packaging, some of which I just couldn’t resist photographing…
